There is a steampunk/vintage challenge going on at Lost Coast Designs blog.

Hi stampers and other crafty people.
Do you love steampunk and vintage?
Than join the challenge and have a chance to win some rubber stamps.
Here's my DT example.
I made a slimline card, here is the step by step.
This is what I used:

Derwent Inktense pencils
Stazon Dove grey
A waterpoof black
Distress ink Wild honey,
Vintage photo,
Mowed lawn
Twisted citron.
Mica sheet.
White gell pen.

I started by stamping the Fly with bird stamp with black waterproof ink
on watercolor paper.
Color her in with the inktense pencils.
I chose green, yellow and gray,
because I didn't want to use the traditional steampunk/vintage colors this time.
When you're done coloring, cut out the steampunk girl.
You can use sissors or a knife, what ever works the best for you.
Now we make the background.
Make with the 4 colors and some water ink puddles.
The main part with the distress ink vintage photo and wild honey.
And with the green colors we do some ink here and there.
I used a piece of mica, so you have more control over where the ink goes.
Leave some space to print the other stamps.
With the gears 2 background stamp and Distress ink Mowed lawn I stamped here and there.
Because I wanted to keep it very subtle I stamped second and third generation.
With the Stazon dove gray I stamped in the left under corner
and the right upper corner with the pieces of calligraphy.
And did the same with the dirigible stamp in the top left corner.

I stamped with black stazon.
The text "Art gives my soul wings to fly",
Now glue on the steampunk lady and mat with gray.
I hope you liked it,
and maybe you will also make something for the challenge.
If you participate you have a chance to win beautiful stamps.
You have until the end of the month.
See you at the challenge.

There ia a vintage/steampunk challenge at Lost Coast designs.

Vintage and steampunk style is one of my favorites in stamping.
Beautiful old colors and romantic stamps.
Love it!!!! and Lost Coast Designs has a lot of stamps in this style.
This time I made a double tag in vintage style for the challenge DT.

What I used:
LCD stamps:
van hobbyshop Sandra.
1 paper doily
Large tag 13x26,5
Small tag 8x15,5
Versa magic perfect plumeria
Distress ink,
Victorian velvet
Aged mahogany
seedless preservers
Markers in the same colors.
I used waterbased.

To start, make a puddle of Victorian velvet and some water, run the large tag through it.

Now, using an ink blender tool and a stencil, apply the large ornaments.
One on the top left and one bottom right.

Spray some water on it and dab it off with some tissue paper.
I did this because I wanted to blur the ornaments a bit.

Stamp here and there with Aged mahogany and the crackle background.

Stamp here and there with Victorian velvet
and a stamp from the pieces of calligraphy sheet in the background.

Stamp the beautiful lady from the labels sheet with the Versa magic on the small tag.
Dry it well with the heat tool.

Make a mask and mask the lady.

With an ink blender and Victorian velvet we make the border pink.

With the crackle background and Aged mahogany add some crackles along the edge.
Remove the mask and color the lady with the markers.

Collor the doily with the Victorian velvet and the seedles preserves

With the ink blender tool and seedles preserves we darken the edges of both tags.

Finally 2 butterflies stamped with Victorian velvet.
Now you can glue everything on its place.
You can also participate with stamps from other brands. And you can win new stamps.
So join the fun and join in.

Lost Coast Designs "Summertime" challenge.

If there's one thing that reminds me of summer, it's the tropics.
Tropical fruit, plants, flowers and colors, then I think of Hawaii.
Aloha summertime.

This time its a slimline card. with the beautiful pineapple stamp from Carmens Veranda stamps.
This stamp is no less than 6 inches (15cm) in size. Love to color this big stamp.

I used for this card:

Distressink:
Twisted citron,
Rustic wilderness,
Spiced marmelade,
Peacock feathers,
festive berries,

Stazon Forest green.

A stencil with a leaf patern.
Flower die.
Branch die.
The word Aloha.
Washi tape.
White gellpen
Water based makers.

With a small finger sponge I did the leaves of the stencil on the inside with Twisted citron.

I did the outside of the leaves in the same way with Rustic wilderness.

This has a nice effect of overflowing green in the leaves.

On watercolor paper I stamped the pineapple with Stazon Forest green.
And colored it with water based markers.
Yellow, orange, green and with the green tones I also colored the leaves.

I colored pieces of paper with all colors of distress ink.
This is for the flower and the leaves.
I matched the colors to the washi tape.

With the sizzix machine I die cut the flower and twigs.
I did not used the dark green.
Wanted to keep it brigth.
Now give the pineapple some accents with the white gellpen.

Now assamble the card and enjoy the summer.

You can join the Summertime challenge till the 15th.
Its great fun to make something with a summer theme.
You even may use stamps of other brands,
aslong there is stamping on it.
See you on the challenge blog or facebook.

Thank you Cathy Norton for this beautifull poster.

My handmade price from the Butterfly challenge blog. LOVE IT!!!!!!!

A while ago I participated in the Butterfly challenge blog.
This is a lovely challenge blog with fun assignments,
and of course there must always be a butterfly involved.
I had made a bookmark with a butterfly hovering above the book,
and I had won a prize along with others.
What you should know that this blog has no sponsors
and makes the prizes them selves at there own expense.
And what a price, fantastic.
Valerie Williams has made this beautiful folder full of surprises for me.
I am very happy with it, and what a job she has made of it.
As if that wasn't enough,
there is also a pack of design paper from 13arts
and a pack of blank cards with envelope and 2 notebooks hidden in the folder.
What a treat.
Valerie, thank you very much, I am very happy with it.

Made a thank you card.

Willy Duit had done something very nice for me,
so of course I made her a thank you card.
The background is made with distress ink and a stencil.
The borders are stamped with black embossingpowder.
The owl is colored with Derwent Inktense pencils.
Did you know that Willy gives fantastic workshops.
Both digitally and in her workshop space in her backyard.
Here is a link, take a look and you will be surpriced.
