I love the "I am woman" challenge at lost Coast Designs/Carmens Veranda stamps.

Hello everyone, what a fun challenge.
I decided to make an Art Journal page of it.
With the subject "women" I immediately thought of Frida Kahlo.
What beautiful art she made, and despite her physical suffering such a strong woman.
Here is the description of how I made it.

What do you need for this AJ page.

Shape die, Nellie Snellen, Vintasia oval with grid.
Black waterproof inkpad.
Distress Oxide,
Lucky clover,
Crackling Campfire,
Mermaid Lagoon,
Musterd Seed,
Wild Honey.
Coloring pencils

We start with three colors of ink and a little water.
We use that to make spots and stripes on the paper.

Repeat this with the lucky clover and mermaid lagoon.

Stamp the corner ornament with mermaid lagoon.
The calligraphy stamp with crackling campfire.
And the bubble stamp with lucky clover.
Make some splatters with black ink or paint.

Set it aside to dry.

Die cut the 3 parts of the die, the largest with black paper.
The 2 inner parts with white paper.
The middle part stays white.

The inner part is made green with lucky clover and a littlebit of water.

When its dry, splatter with the other distress oxide colors.

When all is dry, glue it together.

Stamp Frida in black waterproof ink.
Color with pencils or markers.
What ever you like to do most.

Do the same with the roses.
I stamped 4 roses and colored with pencils.

Glue everything to the background.

Stamp with black ink the phrase from Carmens Veranda,
Be a girl with a mind.

I hope you enjoyed it.
Feel free to leave a comment and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Now it's your turn for the challenge.
You probably have a stamp with a woman on it.
It can even be from a different brand, as long as you use stamps you can participate.
And maybe you'll win a prize, that would be nice, right?
Until next time, and have fun crafting.

The challenge at lost Coast Designs of this month is "I am woman".

Hi, here is another card for the challenge at Lost Coast Designs.
Love the theme of this month, I am woman.
Hi, here is another card for the challenge at Lost Coast Designs.
Love the theme of this month, I am woman.

Stamps I used.
LCD:

Versamark
Versafine onyx black,
Distress ink,
Bundled sage,
Tumbled glass,
Antique linen,
Speckled egg,
Iced spruce,
Victorian velvet.
Mica powder bronze/gold

Here's how I made the card.
I started by stamping the labels and perfume bottles
in different colors of Distress ink.

Mask the bottum bottle.
Stamp left and right from the mask bottle the other perfume bottles.

In the next picture you can see what I masked,
and stamped in the next phase.

Stamp the empty spaces with a stamp of the pieces of architecture and versamark.

Take a brush and powder the versamark prints with the mica powder.
And cut the card square.

Of course you could keep the card as is.
But I still wanted something with contrast on it.

So I stamped the girl with the curl in black ink.
Cut her out in a square.
I used foam tape to stick her in the middle.
Mat with black cardstock.

I love this month's theme.
And I'm very curious what you make.
Show it on our challenge blog or facebook.
Then you have a chance to win new stamps.
Until next time.

I had a gorjuss swap with a friend.

I had a swap with a stamping friend, Hannie Hokke.
We both had the same stamp from Gorjuss.
So we agreed to do a swap with the stamp.
I got a beautiful accordion card from her with different elaborations of the stamp.
And I made a sea scene with watercolor paint.

The challenge at Lost Coast designs is, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage.

Hi there, here is a tutorial for this slimline card.
I just love the pineapple stamp.
He's a whopping 6 inches/15 centimeters.
And so much fun to color.

What I used for this card.

Inktense pencils
Distress oxide,
Peacock Feathers.
Distress ink,
Wild Honey,
Iced Spruce,
Twisted Citron,
Peacock feathers.
Black waterproof inkpad.
Foamtape
Stencil with tropical leaves.
Yellow Posca marker.
Brayer.

Use the brayer to apply the four colours distressink,
Wild Honey,
Iced Spruce,
Twisted Citron,
Peacock feathers to the paper.

Take a stencil with tropical leaves and the Distress oxide Peacock feathers,
we stencil the bottom half of the paper.
And also the two top corners.

I also stenciled a line along the open areas with very small flowers.

While the leaves are drying we stamp the pineapple with black waterproof ink.
I colored the pineapple with Derwent inktense pencils,
but you can also use other pencils or markers.

On a strip of leftover paper, stamp the text.
Sponge some small flowers.
Distress the edges with Distress Oxide peacock feathers.

Finish with a black background.
With the yellow Posca marker you make a yellow dot in the little flowers.
Now you can stick all the parts on the background with foam tape.
And glue a black background underneath.

That's it for this time.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Did you also make something with fruit, flowers or/and foliage?
Then feel free to join our challenge.
Click on the link and voila, you're there.
You can join with all brands of stamps.
It doesn't necessarily have to be stamped with LCD or CV stamps.
Read the rules first, then you avoid disappointment.
Hope to see you there, until next time.

Red roses for Frida Kalho. Challenge at Lost Coast designs, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage.

The challenge at Lost Coast designs is, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage.

Stamps I used.

Versafine Onyx black
Color pencils, Green and red
Fine-Tec 1240 pearlescent
White gelpen
Masking tape

I started with stamping the Frida collage and 1 rose.

Mask them off.

Stamp the rose two more times in different lengths.
Mask the roses.

Stamp the florisches.

Color the roses.

Paint the pearlescent on the rose petals, but not the entire petal.

Do the same with the Frida collage stamp.

It's a shame that you cant see the shine on the photo,
because it is very pretty in real life.

I would love it if you would show your fruit, flowers or foliage makes.
You can do that if you join the challenge of Lost Coast Designs.
You don't even have to use the stamps of Lost Coast Designs.
As long as you stamp on your project.
You also have a chance to win new rubber stamps.
So join and have a chance.

A flower pinwheel for the DT post at Lost Coast designs/Carmens Veranda stamps

Hello, today I made a pinwheel on the We R Makers pinwheel punch board.
Its for the "Fruit, Flowers and Foliage" challenge at Lost Coast Designs.

I used:

Versafine onyx black.
White gellypen.
Derwent colorsoft pencils.

I made a 7 inch pinwheel.

With a pinwheel you have 4 surfaces to stamp.

With the help of a stamp platform and some cover paper you can stamp each sheet separately.

The other side of the pinwheel can be stamped in one go.
Use the crackle background for this.

Color the flowers as you like.

Give the flowers some accents with the white gellypen.

Put the pinwheel on a stick and start spinning. Isn't that fun?

Come and join us at the "Fruit, Flowers and Foliage" challenge at Lost Coast Designs.
There are free stamps to win, and you can join with all stamp brands.

GO TO THE CHALLENGE.
