For the red, white and blue challenge at Lost Coast designs/Carmens Veranda stamps.

Today a small tag, for the red, white and blue challenge of Lost coast designs.
This challenge runs until the end of the month, so there's still plenty of time to participate.
I stamped with the bird from the new animal series from LCD.
These will soon be for sale in the online store.
And the little swirls are a part of the silhouette dancer.
I also used Stazon Black cherry and Ultramarine.
Distressink barn door and chipped sapphire.
White acrylic paint and a white gelpen.

I started with the red and blue distress ink,
which I spread on my craft sheet and diluted with water.
I painted the top left corner with red.
I did the same with blue around the bird.
A little red on the underside of the bird.
Stamped the text with the blue stazon.
And the swirls are also stamped with the two stazon colors.
Colored the bird with blue and red distress ink.
And gave the bird some accents with the white gelpen.
Splashed some white paint, but first covered the bird with a piece of paper.
Matte the tag with half blue and half red cardstock.
I love the new bird stamp, he has such a funny look.
That's it for this time.

I sincerely hope that you will join the challenge.
Maybe you will be the winner for this challenge,
and you will win new rubber stamps of your choice.

For the "Let us entertain you" challenge at Lost Coast Designs/Carmens Veranda stamps.

What a fun challenge.
You can participate with anything related to theater, film, dance, circus, etc.
I am a huge film fan and especially love the old Hitchcock films, they are fantastic.
You can see from this card what my favorite is.

Stamps I used:

I die cut the film strip and stamped parts of crows with black ink.
Stamped Alfred and masked him.
Stamped part of the Fourth Dimension to lay a floor.
Using a sponge with a very fine structure,
I tapped the speckles on the white parts of the card with black ink.
And I made the scratches with the side of cardboard and black ink.
It should look like an old film reel.
I colored Alfred's suit and shadow with a gray pencil.
And with a letter die I made the word bird.
The card is matted with black cardstock.

Hope you will join in this fun challenge,
There is a price to be won.
Please read the rules first to avoide disapointment.
See you at the challenge.

For the Lost Coast designs/Carmens veranda stamps challenge, "Let's fly"

Hello, No tutorial today but a brief explanation.
I used these stamps for this card.
and

I also used
distress oxide Iced spruce,
Wilted violet,
Picked rasberry
Blueprint sketch.
And distress ink Black soot.
A black waterproof ink.
White gel pen.
Black fineliner.

I started by making a puddle with Iced spruce and some water and dabbing the paper into it.
Let it dry, then make stripes with the side of the oxide ink pads.
Stamp the ravens with the waterproof ink.
Color the ravens with pencil or marker.
Give them some accents with the white gel pen.
Stamp the text on white paper and draw a line around the words.
Cut the words in to pieces.
With the black distress ink and an ink blender we now darken the outer edge of the paper.
That gives it some mystery.
Glue the words on the card.
Now take a larger sheet of white paper,
and stamp it completely full with the Daisy floral and black ink.
Now stick the raven card on top and matt with black cardstock.
This is a somewhat older technique,
but as you can see, you can quickly and easily achieve an interesting background.

So now its up to you, and I hope you join the challenge.
It runs till end of the month, so still time to join.
There is new rubber to win, so thats nice.
Goodluck and dont forget to have fun with your craft.

The current challenge at Lost Coast Designs is.....Birds!

What a nice challenge this is.
Who doesn't love birds.
For this challenge I used the stamps:
This is a stampsheet with individual words and I must say, I use them a lot.

What else did I use:
Stazon midnight blue.
Distress ink,
Evergreen bough,
Peacock feathers,
Twisted citron,
Mowed lawn.
Versamark.
Gold embossing powder.
Blonde moments EP Savory Sky Iridescent,
White gel pen.
Blue and green colored pencils or markers, whatever you prefer.

How I made it.
I started with the 4 distress colors on the craft sheet and a little bit of water.
I ran the paper through that and made ink spots.
I stamped the edges with a stamp from the brushstrokes sheet,
 and Stazon midnight blue.

I forgot to photograph the next step.
But that is not difficult to do.
Take a thin paper and stamp the Gothic window
with the stazon midnight blue and color it with the pencils or markers.
Stamp the window on the background as well.
Cut out the colored window and glue it to the stamped print on the card.
Give the window some accents with the white gellpen.
Stamp the Raven with the Versamark and
sprinkle the dark blue embossing powder on top.

Use a heattool to melt the embossingpowder,
And now you see the beautifull dark blue shine.
Just look how beautiful this dark blue color is.

Now we move on to the grunge tree.
The grunge tree has a frame and I didn't want to stamp it.
So I covered it with tape.
The stamp was inked with Versamark.
Remove the tape before making the print.
Sprinkle with gold embossing powder and use the heat tool to melt it.
I did the edge of the card with my finger.
Press your finger on the versamark and swipe along the edges.
Sprinkle with gold embossing powder and use the heat tool to melt it.
With the stazon midnight blue the word "Fly" is stamped here and there.
In the window I gave the glass some shade with a dark blue pencil.
And some white accentswith the gellpen on the stone frame of the window.

Hope you liked this tutorial.
And dont forget to join the challenge.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Challenge 170 at lost Coast Designs. Red, White and Blue.

 Hi there stamp lovers,
What fun to make something in red, white and blue.
And what a great challenge.
They are of course the colors of the 4th of July holiday in the USA.
I made this tag with that in mind.

What I used for this tag.

Rosettes die.
border die with stars.
Star punches,
Stencil with sun rays.

Distressink,
Chipped sapphire,
Fired brick,
Antique linen,
Vintage photo,
Walnut stain.

Aqua markers blue, orange and red.
Dark blue and red cardstock
A blank tag.
Red, white and blue ribbon.
Foam tape.

How to make this tag.
I started with Megan's Christmas Bird.
Using a stamping platform and the aqua markers, I stamped the bird.
I cut it out and set it aside to dry.

I sponged the tag with the 3 distressink colors.

Then sprayed it wet with water and dryed  it with the heattool.

I did the same with a small strip of paper,
and stamped with the Chipped sapphire `Let´s Celebrate`
from the Party words sheet.

With a sun rays stencil you sponge the distressink Fired brick on the tag.

And with a stamp from the Pieces of Calligraphy set
and Chipped sapphire you make 3x a print.

Make a puddle of ink and water and run the rosette strip trough it.
One with red and one with blue.
Let it dry.

Blend some walnut stain on the edges.
Fold the rosette and glue a star in the middle of it.

Cut the dark blue cardstock slightly larger than the tag.
But a lot longer on the bottem so that you have the space to make a border with a star die.
The last you cut is the top of the tag in the blue cardstock.
Now we are going to assemble the tag.
I adhered the bird and the banner with foam tape.
With punches I made stars in red, white and blue.
For the rosettes and here and there on the tag.
Don't forget to put a star on the bird's hat.
This is how we make the holly on the hat disappear.
Now mat the tag with the red cardboard.
A red, white and blue ribbon through it and the tag is ready.

I hope you wil join us and show what you made with,
Red, White an Blue.

Challenge # 103 Christmas in July

Hello everyone,
Funny, making Christmas cards in July.
Well I'm actually happy with it, then I'm definitely on time.

I started with the background.
I used light blue watercolor paint and plastic wrap.
So it looks like the ice on the window in winter.
Did the same with a piece of paper and green watercolor paint.
While drying I colored Megan's Christmas bird with pencils.
When the background has dried,
I stamped with black stazon Megan's bird on the background.
Then cut the bird out and glued it on the background.
With a die, I cut out the branches.
Glued the pearls with a hotfix and colored the lights and berries with a red marker.
Now some accents on the berries and lights and eye with the white gel pen.
I used a die for the “merry christmas” and black paper.
Then I sponged the edge of the card with black soot distressink.
Glued the card on a black mat and its done.
Hope you enjoyd this little tutorial.
You can still join the christmas in july challenge.
There is some stamping rubber to win.
Have fun making your beautiful cards.
