Challenge at lost Coast Designs/Carmens Veranda stamps.

Its all about celebrations.
The current challenge at Lost Coast designs is so festive.
I have chosen to celebrate friendship.
The stamps I used.
And I used:
Archival ink Coffee.
Distress oxide,
Crackling campfire and Wild honey.
Derwent colorsoft,
Indigo, sea green and lime green.
Brown ink or paint for splashing.
Maskingtape.
Orange fineliner.

How to make the card.
Stamp the Tres cabbaleros with the archival ink,
and do the same on the card with the stamp from the Pieces of architacture.
Stamp with the stamp of the Pieces of calligraphy here and there.
Mask off the corners.
With the distress oxide wild honey and a blendingtool,
we color the card from the outside in.
Make sure to leave the center empty.
With the Cracling campfire we do the same,
but only on the outer side and along the masks.
With the masks on the corner stamps,
we are now going to splash with the brown paint or ink.
Whatever you prefer, ink or paint.
Remove the masks and color as you like.
Cut out the guys and gleu them on the card.
Color them in the same colors.
Do the same with the words, and scribble with the orange fineliner on the edge.

Now it's your turn.
The team would love it if you would join the challenge.
Make something festive, anything is allowed as long as it gets stamped on it.
You can even join with other brands.

#165 Let's celebrate it! The new challenge at Lost Coast Designs/Carmens Veranda stamps.

Hi there, there is a new challenge  at Lost Coast Designs.
Its all about festivities.
This is my take on the theme.

For the background I used a stamp of the Brush strokes sheet.
I stamped it all around  the card and colored the cirkels in with posca markers.
Stamped the American Gothic Party with versafine and colored it with Posca markers.
I used some words of the "Party words" sheet.
And with the posca markets I made little dots.
Mat everything on a black cardstock.

I hope you like this card.
Come join the challenge, you can be the winner of new stamps.

#164 -Challenge at Lost Coast Designs, make a rock or popup card.

Goodmorning and happy easter to all of you.
This is my second card for the rock or popup challenge.
Gail, our dt leader had a great
idea for a challenge.
Rock or popup.
I chose a rocker card with a pendulum.

I thought this airship was well suited for that.
Because I have never made an interactive card before,
I did some searching on the internet.
And ended up with one of the best card makers out there.
Here is a link to the video on how to make a rocking card with a pendulum.

Here's a little explanation of how I made my rocker.
What I used.
Lost Coast Designs, STP Dirigible.
Adventure is from the Misc words sheet.
The small curl in the water is from the Brush Strokes sheet.
The beach (the rocker part) Shrubbery.

For the ocean,
Distress oxide,
Peacock feathers and Blueprint sketch.
For the sky, Distress oxide,
Musterd seed, Wild honey, Abandoned coral and Wilted violet.
For the beach (rocker),
Distress oxide, Tea Dye, ground espresso.
Ditressink, walnut stain.
Amsterdam acrylic ink Titanium white.
Distress micro glaze.
Color pencils.
Die of waves (Leane Creatieve), Lea'bilitie landscape.

The card consists of two halves.
The sky and the ocean.
For the sky I started with ink blending at the bottom.
First with Mustard seed then with wild honey.
Then with Abandoned coral and finally at the top the Wilted violet.
When that is dry, continue with the clouds.
I painted the clouds with white Amsterdam acrylic ink.

The oceaan is cut out in waves with a waves die.
I stamped the bottom half with the curl stamp from the brush strokes sheet with Distress Glaze.
With a inkblending tool, the oceaan at the top with Blueprint sketch.
the bottom half with Peacock feathers.
When it was dry I painted some foam caps on the waves,
with a brush with the Amsterdan acrylic ink.
With colorpencils, i used Derwend colorsoft,
I colored the mermaid and the airship (Dirigible),
and with a piece of die cut wave I stamped "Adventure".
made a pencil line around it to make it pop.

Now for the rocking part.
I folded a pieces of 200 grams paper and cut a half circle out.
With a inkblending  tool and distress oxide Tea dye I colored it.
With distress oxide ground espresso I stamped the shrubbery.
Its a impression of the beach and sand dunes.

Jennifer Mcguire's video shows you how to assemble the card.

I Loved to make this card. It was a real out of the box for me.
Hope you have fun making a rocker or popup card and please show it on oure
challenge blog or facebook.

New challenge at Lost Coast Designs/Carmens veranda, Rock or popup card.

Hello all,
Today a very nice challenge starts at Lost Coast Designs/Carmens Veranda stamps.
A rocker or popup card.
Gail, our team leader always knows how to provide us with fun challenges.
I had never made a card like this myself, but I really enjoyed doing it.
This is what I used to make this popup card.
Lost Coast Designs stamps:

Distressink
Scattered straw,
Musterd seed,
Wild honey.
Stazon Timber brown,
Die of a flower,
Water based markers,
Brown Bister-ink or watercolor paint to splatter.
 Dutch doobadoo stencil chicken wire.
Brown waterprook fineliner.

I started by making some stains on the paper with Scattered straw and
Musterd seed with water on a smooth work surface.
I did two piece, one for the front of the card and one for the inside of the card.
With a stencil, I used Dutch doobadoo stencil chicken wire.
And a brush I applied Distressink Wild honey.
Now we take the Brush strokes sheet and take the stamp with the big dots.
You stamp this here and there with Distressink wild honey.
Set it aside to dry.
Make the flower with your die.
I have an open die.
So I made a blank square of paper underneath.
I sponged this with the yellow distressink.
And made splashes with the brown bistre.
I did the same on the card bases I made earlier.
Sponge the die cut with yellow and orange distressink.
With foam tape you now stick the flower on the background so that it is slightly raised.
Glue to the front of the card.
Now we stamp a lot of bees and one big bee from the
"more bugs"sheet with the Stazon timber brown.
Color the bees and cut them out.
See for yourself where you have the bees placed on the card.
I also pasted a small piece of foam tape under these wings.
It looks like they're flying away.
Now for the popup mechanism.
Since it was my first time, I used Sam Calcott's method.
She explains in this video how to make it.
You do need to customize it for your own card.
But it's about the technique for the popup.
Stamp a few more texts on a yellow sponged strip of paper
with the Party words and misk words.
Create a frame around the text with a brown waterproof fineliner.
Finish the card and mat with brown paper.

I hope you enjoyed it and the team would love to see your popup or rocker card join the challenge.
And maybe your card will be chosen as the winner and you will win stamps of your choice.
