I love the "I am woman" challenge at lost Coast Designs/Carmens Veranda stamps.

Hello everyone, what a fun challenge.
I decided to make an Art Journal page of it.
With the subject "women" I immediately thought of Frida Kahlo.
What beautiful art she made, and despite her physical suffering such a strong woman.
Here is the description of how I made it.

What do you need for this AJ page.

Shape die, Nellie Snellen, Vintasia oval with grid.
Black waterproof inkpad.
Distress Oxide,
Lucky clover,
Crackling Campfire,
Mermaid Lagoon,
Musterd Seed,
Wild Honey.
Coloring pencils

We start with three colors of ink and a little water.
We use that to make spots and stripes on the paper.

Repeat this with the lucky clover and mermaid lagoon.

Stamp the corner ornament with mermaid lagoon.
The calligraphy stamp with crackling campfire.
And the bubble stamp with lucky clover.
Make some splatters with black ink or paint.

Set it aside to dry.

Die cut the 3 parts of the die, the largest with black paper.
The 2 inner parts with white paper.
The middle part stays white.

The inner part is made green with lucky clover and a littlebit of water.

When its dry, splatter with the other distress oxide colors.

When all is dry, glue it together.

Stamp Frida in black waterproof ink.
Color with pencils or markers.
What ever you like to do most.

Do the same with the roses.
I stamped 4 roses and colored with pencils.

Glue everything to the background.

Stamp with black ink the phrase from Carmens Veranda,
Be a girl with a mind.

I hope you enjoyed it.
Feel free to leave a comment and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Now it's your turn for the challenge.
You probably have a stamp with a woman on it.
It can even be from a different brand, as long as you use stamps you can participate.
And maybe you'll win a prize, that would be nice, right?
Until next time, and have fun crafting.

My artjournal, work in progress.

 Hi there,
Today a artjournal page.
Really more a little  stampbook for myself.
I had a stamp sheet with african animals.
Bought years ago.
Finally used them.

The cute and/or fluffy challenge at Lost Coast Designs/Carmens Veranda stamps is still running.

Hello everybody,
is still running on the Lost Coast Designs blog.
Last days, but you can still join.
I made a page for my art journal that I just started.
And I am so in love with this sweet white cat from Carmen's Veranda stamps.

What I used.

Washi tape,
Distressink,
Crackling campfire,
Twisted citron,
Forest moss,
Evergreen bough.
Versafine Onyx black or any other waterproof black ink.
Markers or colorpencils.

Start by inking the largest stamp of the shadow frames
with twisted citron and evergreen bough.
Spray a little water on it and print it on the paper.
Dry the paper well with the heat tool.
Looks so pretty, just like watercolor art.

Take 3 different washi tapes and stick them on.

Stamp with Forest moss and the stamp from the pieces of calligraphy sheet,
on the right side of the green ink print.
1x at the top and 1x at the bottom.
The bottom print is upside down because the text runs nicely along the cat's body.
Because the cat is pasted over it later, you cannot see that the text is printed upside down.

We now stamp the crackle background with distressink
Crackling campfire and Evergreen bough.
But only use a small part of the stamp.

Now the flowers and the cat.
Stamp them with black waterproof ink in the places where you want them.
Now take thin paper and stamp them on it again.

Color the flowers and cat and glue them on.

Stamp the sentiment with the black ink.
Give the words some orange accents.
And finally, take a green pencil and create
some shadow along the washi and the cat.
And that's it, hope you liked it.

Feel free to leave a comment, I really like that.

The LCD challenge runs until the end of the month.
So there is still time to participate.
You can also participate with other brands of stamps.
As long as your project is stamped.
See you next time, and don't forget, have fun stamping.

This A.J. is playing in challenge:

The challenge at lost coast designs/Carmens Veranda is "Round and Round"

What a nice challenge again.
Round and round, well everyone should be able to do that, right?
Did you know that at Lost Coast Designs/Carmens Veranda stamps,
you can also participate in the challenge with other brands of stamps?
So it's easy, participate and maybe you will be the winner of new stamps.
Now to the explanation of this card/AJ page.

What I used:
LCD
CV

Stencil with small holes.
Distress ink:
Evergreen bough.
Peacock feathers.
Saltwater taffy.
Distress oxide:
Peacock feathers.
Saltwater taffy.
Versafine onyx black.
Black paint for splassing drops.
Black fineliner.
Watercolor paper.

I started with Peacock feathers and the largest circle from the shadow frames set.

I repeated that with Evergreen bough and overlapped the stamp a bit.

Take a little water and a brush to spread the ink a bit.
Wait till its dry.

With the bubble plastic stamp from the Brush strokes,
I stamped with Distress ink Evergreen bough and
Peacock feathers.
I did this in contrast next to the circles.
Stamped the 3 cirkels flom the Brush strokes set with Distress Oxide Saltwater taffy.

And did the stencil with the Distress Oxide Saltwater taffy.

I stamped the CV text and letters of the Pieces of calligraphy sheet
with versafine onyx black.
Stamp the butterfly in the center.
Take some black paint for the splashes.

Stamp the butterfly on a piece of paper and color with de distress ink.
Cut the butterfly out and glue on the card.

Color some Peacock feathers in the cirkels.
And with a black fineliner scribble some lines round the cirkels.

Are you in the mood for new stamps?
Then join the challenge and click on the link.
And maybe you will be the lucky winner of this challenge.
And if not, keep participating and don't give up.
Good luck and above all have fun stamping.

Art journaling with a magazine picture.

Very occasionally I make a page for my art journal.
This time I followed an online workshop by Willie Duit.
Super fun to do and with the clear explanation and photos not difficult to do.

# 152 Things with wings challenge at Lost Coast designs.

Hello everyone,
Today an art journal page for the "things with wings" challenge.
I stamped it purely with ink.
Lost Coast Designs has released a great new sheet,
I have enjoyed stamping with this new sheet.

Stamps I used:
Five stamps from the Brush strokes sheet
Carmen's Veranda, Art wings to fly.

Stazon Jet black
Distress oxide
Wild honey
Bundled sage
Peacock feathers
Saltwater taffy
Watercolor markers

I started with Stazon Jet black.
I stamped the Praying angel with it.
I also stamped the checkered border and crows border with the Stazon jet black.
With the 4 colors Distress oxide and some water I made some ink spots on the empty spots.
I stamped the background with these five stamps from the brush strokes sheet.
All with the distress oxide colors.

With the crackle stamp and black stazon,
i made some small prints in the empty spots of the paper.
With the long small stamp I stamped the edges with stazon jet black.
With the markers I colored the goth crow and the angel.
I hope you enjoyed it and that you also get to work on the challenge theme, "Things with wings".
You can also participate with other brands.
But of course we prefer Lost coast designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps.
You have until the 30th to participate, and you can also win new stamps.
The team is looking forward to what you will make, so feel free to join us.

Challenge 143 at Lost Coast Designs, its about "strong woman."

Hi everyone,
This time I made a mixed media card/art journal for the "Strong woman" challenge at Lost Coast designs.

What I used:
CraftEmotions stencil.
Dutch Doobadoo modding paste.
Dylusions ink sprays, Calypso teal, Polished jade, Ground coffee.
A marker for the 50's girls dress and skin.
Black ink for the sentiment.
Versa Magic Egg Plant.
Silver leaf foil.
Glue for the silver leaf.

How i made it.

I took an A5 smooth cardboard and applied the modding paste here and there.
Let it dry by air or heattool.
Sprayed it with the Dylusions inks.
Let it dy well.
Apply some glue here and there on the hearts and apply the silver leaf.

Stamp the stamp of the Pieces of calligraphy sheet, spread over the empty spaces with the VersaMagic.
This may be diluted a little with a mist of water.

Now take thin paper and stamp the CV sentiment and the 50's Girl with a black waterproof ink.
Cut out the lines of the sentiment and swipe the Versamagic around the edges.
Do this also along the edges of the card.
Color the girl with markers or pencils.
Now glue the girl and the text on the card.
And then you're done.

It's so much fun to join the challenge.
We prefer if you use LCD or CV stamps, but it is not mandatory.
You can also participate with other brands, as long as there is stamping.
So click on the link and join the fun, and maybe you'll be the winner of new rubber stamps.

I would like to draw your attention to our DT member Cathy Norton.
She makes the beautiful posters for us every challenge,
and that is worth a compliment.
