Challenge 117 at Lost coast designs, Minime, make something small

 Hello stampers and crafters.
What a great challenge, make something small.
This can be anything, an atc, a small box, atc coin, juwelry, shrinkfoil.
I chose shrinkfoil, just love that stuf.

This is what i used.
Sewing bobbin.
A piece of white cotton ribbon.
Shrinkfoil clear.
Distressink:
 Evergreen bough and seedless preserves.
Stazon timber brown.
Bister natural
White acrylic paint
White posca marker
Derwent inktense pencils
Alcohol markers
Mini paper roses.

I started with the ribbon.

I sprayed some water on it and painted the green and pink textile paint on it.

This paint has a pearl shimmer and that looks so lovely.

With the bister natural diluted in water i gave it a bit of a older look.
Set the ribbon aside and let it dry.
We go ahead with the bobbin, and paint it white.
When the paint is dry, give it some smears with the distressink.
Now we stamp with the stazon timber brown the dictionary and florish stamp.
Now we color the florish and make some white accents with the white Posca marker.
Stamp sleeping Lucy on the clear shrink foil with the timber brown.
Shrink the foil with a heattool or oven.
now color Lucy.
Not the wings, they are so beautyful when they are transparent.

Now you can gleu on the roses and the ribbon.
Glue little lucy in the flower, so that it looks as of she is waking up from a little nap in the flowerbed.
I hope you have fun with this tutorial.

I hope you are inspired to join our challenge.
Please let us see your take on the minime challenge.
You have a change to win some rubber.
So why not give it a chance.

Lost coast designs challenge 116, Winged things.

                                                            Hello everybody, Riet here.

How are you all doing.
Hope you are crafting so you can join our challenge.
For this challenge things with wings, I made this dragonfly.
And this is how I made it.

 This is what I used:
Large florish
Dragonfly from the More bugs set.
I am a child of the moon
Glimmermist
Key lime pie
Haunted shadows
Caribbian blue
Distress Micro glaze
Stazon black
white gellpen
Distress seedless preserves
Markers or pencils (what your preference is)

 How its made.
I really love the glaze resist and use it a lot.
Just love the effect with ink on water base.
And its so easy to use and with great results.
So start with the glaze on your florish stamp.
I stamped it random on the paper.
Then I sprayed the glimmer mist.

It looks so jummie, and the colors blend so well together.
And I love the shimmer of the glimmermist.
Let it dry, I did not use the heattool this time.
The paper was very wet, and I did not want to lose the drops effect.

And how pretty is this and so easy.
Now we stamp the dragonfly on a thin peace of paper.
And color it as you like.
You can take the same colors as the background,
but it is also pretty when you use different colors.
That way the dragonfly pops more.
I often use a gelpen on my art.
Just love the effect, as specially on the wings of dragonfly's or butterfly's.
It gives it just that little bit special look.
I went along with stamping the Carmen Veranda's child of the moon frase.
Cut it in 4 pieces and hit the edges with the seedles precerves ink.
So you see that you can use a stamp in many different ways.
Now glue every thing on and your done.

Join The challenge
The team and I would love to see what you can make with wings.
Show us please, join the challenge, and than you have a chance to win some rubberstamps.
Read the rules first and join us with this lovely challenge.

# 116 Lost Coast Designs "Winged things" challenge.

Hi there, this is a interesting challenge.
Winged things could be enything.
A angel, a fairy or a insect.
And a lot more.
I chose for the winged girl, love her so much.
I made a wallhanger, I had the flower embellishments for ages.
So I thought I would use them in this wallhanger.
And this is how I made it.

What you need:
The winged girl stamp.
Distress ink, old paper, vintage photo and frayed burlap.
Stazon Black
Americana deep burgundy acrylic paint.
Something to color the winged girl, I used watercolor based markers.
But you can use any coloring medium you like.
3 kinds of design papers
corrugated cardboard
Some dark brown bister to water down.
Nuvo aqua shimmer, glitter gloss
ribbon, lace and pearls
paper flower embellishments.
Border punch
Bister natural

And this is how I made it.
I started with the designpaper with the music notes.
I had to make it look older.
I did that with an ink blender tool and distress ink old paper.
With the brown paint I made some splashes on the paper.
Now for the second layer you smuch the corrugated cardboard
with the frayed burlap and vintage photo.
Paint some of the Americana Burgundy on the corrugated cardboard.
Not every where, keep some spots the natural color.
Now repeat the distressink.

Now for the 3 layer.
Because I was going for the vintage look I made a lace border with the punch.
This I did on the bottum and top of the design paper.
With a blending tool and Frayed burlap I smuched the borders and sides of the paper.

Now the last layer.
I tore the edges of the paper and with a distresstool I ruffeld them a bit.
Now you take the bister natural and a little jar.
water down the bister and with a paintbrush you paint the edges.

Now its time to stamp and color the winged girl.
As you see on the picture my first lady was with orange and yellow wings.
But I did not like that, so I changed that later on.
Color the girl and as you see I use all kinds of brands markers,
I dont care about the brand, but i do care about the color.
I always want my colors to match well, and I think thats more importend then the brand.

When you are done with the coloring we can put everything together.
You can do like I did, but you also can do what you like yourself.
As a final touch I give the winged lady some glitters on her wings with the nuvo aqua shimmer.
Hope you liked it and have fun with creating your wallhanger.

Dont forget to show us your lovely crations on the challenge blog.
And maybe your are the next winner of some new stamps.

What I used for this card.

Versamark clear.

I started with the florish by stamping it with versamark clear.
Embost it with the gold glitter embossingpowder.
Them I sprayd with water and brusho brilliant red.
Be careful, this color is really intense.
Dry it with the heattool.
With a smal brush I painted some of the brusho in the open parts of the florish.
Now cut it in four pieces.
Save a little piece and stamp the sentiment the same as the florish.
Only stamp "happily ever after".
Stamp the Pope clown with the stazon black.
Color him with the red marker.
I have used gold ink, but you can also use a gold balpoint or something else.

(click here to see them) Gnomes
For this card I used the sweater gnome.
Do you want to now how I made this gnome card?
 Well here we go.
  I used:
Distressink,
Musterd seed,
Peacock feathers,
Dusty concord,
Picked rasberry.
Black fineliner (waterproof).
Derwent inktense pencils that match the distress colors.
A black waterproof ink, like stazon.
White gellpen.
Masking tape.

We start with stamping the gnome with a waterproof black ink.
Stamp again on a piece of masking tape.
Mask the Gnome.
With a mandala stencil and the black fineliner, I have drawn a part of the mandala.
But if you like you can do the whole background.
With a yellow Inktense pencil I collered the background.
And with a orange inktense pencil I did some shadowing.
Take a waterbrush and wet the yellow and orange.
Its amazing what a color burst you get with a small amount of water.
Now color the gnome and use the water again.
For the scond background you just make some ink puddles on your craftsheet.

Gnome doorhanger for the gnome challenge at lost Coast Designs

Door hanger.

 Hello everybody, Riet here.
Today a post for the gnome challenge.
Just love those funny gnomes,
they are so adorable.
Here is a list what I used for this door hanger.
Versafine onyx black.
Distress oxide ground espresso, Iced spruce, Speckled egg.
  And distressink Walnut stain.
Some cream colored paper.
Stencil with numbers.
Waterspray.
Coloring pencils/markers.
White gellpen.
Red posca pen.
Fine sandingpaper.

I started with the distress oxide speckled egg and Iced spruce.
I made stipes over the paper in one direction,
leaving some room between the stripes so the cream color shows.
When it is dry I scored some lines on the backside of the paper.
With the Ground espresso I made the score lines brown.
Then I sprayed just a little bit water on the lines.
This makes the lines run out a little bit.
Now you make the numbers with the stencil and the Ground espresso.

On a piece of paper you stamp the gnomes and the keyhole with versafine.
Color them and cut them out.

Cut out the doorhanger and gleu it on the cardboard doorhanger (Ikea).
Now you glue the male gnome on the keyhole and let his hat stick out.
Then you glue the keyhole on the doorhanger.
Glue the girl gnome and the keys on.Sand the edges with sandpaper, and you are done.

LCD team would love to see what you make with a cute gnome.
Here is a link to lost Coast Designs gnomes, so cute.

Challenge #113,Things beginning with a B, Beautyful girl, Bird.

B for Bird and beautyful girl.

How are you all, hope you are crafting.
Because this is a fun challenge.
Something with a letter B makes you look at a different way at your stamps.
So our team leader Gail made a great choise with this challenge.
For this card I used the lovely vintage stamp Annie.
Also used the Victoriana set.
And the dictionary stamps.

What I used for this card.
Resist fluid.
A stencil with numbers.
A stencil with ABC.
Stazon Timber brown.
Distress oxide:
Iced spruce.
Antique linen.
Ground espresso.
Abandoned coral
Versa magic  Malted Mauve.
White gellpen.

How to make this card.

First I made a mix with the distress oxide antique linen and iced spruce on my craftsheet.
Then I incorperated the colors here and there on the paper.
Keep the colors on the paper light.
Now put the numbers stencil on your background and spray the resist flued.
Dry this very well.
Now with some abandoned coral and a little water you make the rest of the color on the card.
Make sure that you still can see the other colors shine trough.
With the dictionary stamp and stazon timber brown we make some prints.
I chose to stamp it without the big word on top, but that is for you to decide.
The corner stamp is the stamp from the Victoriana set.
I stamped it half on the edge of the paper and made a corner stamp of it.
Stamped it with the stazon timber brown.
The medalion with the face is stamped with the Versamark Malted Mauve.
Now take a thin piece of paper and stamp Annie with Stazon timber brown.
Color the image with markers or pencils.
Glue her on the card and ad some highlights with the white gellpen.
The word “bird” is written with a stencil.
With the Maulted Mauve I made some splashes on the card.
Glue the card on 2 layers of cardstock, and your done.

Now the team would love to see what you make with the letter B.
So join our challenge, and maybe you will win some rubber.

And dont forget to read the challenge rules.

New challenge to start the new year. Challenge #113 something beginning with B.

Hi everybody, first I wish all my visitors a very happy and healthy 2021.

This is my first Lost Coast Designs post for the new challenge.
And its all about the letter B.
So I made this slimline card with the big raven with tree branches stamp.
This stamp is a big one with a height of 3.25 inch.
Love that, I also used the moonface, from the sheet Just faces.

I first sponged with distress oxide, started at the bottum of the card with Musterd seed.
I worked my way up with spiced marmelade, barn door and the last, aged mahogany.

I stamped the raven with Versamark clear and black glitter embossing powder.
Love that effect on the raven.
I took my black ink and painted the branches with a paint brush.
But for the smaller branches I used an old ink pen.

I stamped the moonface with black stazon.
Now I wanted to fade out the moon a bit, so I went over it with a blending tool and aged mahogany.
It gives it a bit of a misterious look.

I did the same at the bottom of the card.
I hope you liked this little tutorial.
I would love to see what you make for the B challenge.
Please join us at Lost Coast designs, there are prices to win.
And dont forget to read the rules.
All stamp compagny's are alowed.
